We had a very interesting end to our trip to Peru here! Just before we left on holiday we had missed our teeth cleaning appointments, and here apparently the dental care is world class and very cheap. I called this morning to a place right behind our hotel in Miraflores, and he had us both in at 4pm this afternoon. Dr. Enrique Yuen saw us on time, and for the very first time in our lives, a dentist actually took high quality close up pictures of all our teeth surfaces and sat down and showed us them and went through things! My husband had teeth cleaning, anti staining (which is like a sand blasting for stains!) and a fluoride treatment! I also had the Zoom whitening done and brought home extra whitening kits for not too much more. I was not looking for amazingly bright teeth, but I had been noticing how discolored they were getting. We were in and out within two hours and were very happy. I was also told and shown why the fillings that we have had put in on Tortola were not lasting! The type they use are only designed to last 3-4 years, which is criminal when you consider what we pay for dentist work there. I will never go to a dentist on island again. For those who need a lot of work done, they have a speeded up system of doing things so you can fly down here, get it all done in the minimum amount of time. I firmly believe that if you needed a lot of work, you would definitely pay for your holiday here in Lima, Peru with the amount of money you would save compared to where I have been in the past. I just cannot believe that I called this morning, and I was in this afternoon.
Add that to the fact that you got to watch TV with headphones while the work was being done!!! My husband said he was like the pig going to market on his way to the dentist as he hates them, but he found this his most inoffensive visit ever to a dentist.
